In this key role, you'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our core IT infrastructure while providing exceptional 2nd line support to internal users. Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Support & Maintenance
Manage and maintain servers, network devices, and storage systems.
Support and monitor virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
Perform system updates, backups, and patch management to ensure security and reliability.
Assist with infrastructure scalability and capacity planning.
2nd Line Technical Support
Deliver responsive 2nd line support for desktop, hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Resolve escalated incidents and service requests, ensuring SLA compliance.
Collaborate with 1st line teams, vendors, and 3rd parties for advanced troubleshooting.
Networking & Security
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPNs, wireless networks, and network devices.
Support network security through monitoring tools, firewalls, and access control.
User Support & Training
Provide clear, user-friendly technical guidance and occasional training sessions.
Ensure end-user systems are protected, patched, and up to date.
Project Work
Contribute to IT projects including upgrades, cloud migration, and strategy development.
Support the business in identifying and implementing new technologies.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Technical Skills
Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments.
Strong knowledge of VMWare vSphere and virtualisation platforms.
Familiarity with SANs and small-scale storage architectures.
Proficiency with Linux (Debian/RedHat/Suse) and Windows Server (DNS, DHCP, DFS, AD).
Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies: Intune, Office 365, Exchange Online, MFA, SharePoint Online.
SQL Server administration basics.
Knowledge of backup technologies, networking (routing/switching), wireless systems.
Azure cloud services knowledge.
Understanding of firewalls, network security, and VOIP telephony systems.
