3rd Line Engineer – Teesside – £35 - £42k plus benefits – Hybrid

The Opportunity for you: Are you currently working at 3rd line at an MSP, and looking to join a company that offers training, development, and progression? Or are you looking to contribute to an MSP where your ideas are heard and you can bring ideas to the table? Then this is the job for you.

As a 3rd line engineer, you’ll be based in the Teesside office for this MSP. These have recently won contracts and, in turn, need to grow out their team. This MSP has seen employees progress from apprentices through to directors, with clear room for progression and growth.

You’ll be working with customers on support with plenty of project work. You’ll also have the opportunity to propose new ideas and products to expand their service offering. We’re looking for an engineer with an eye on new tech within the industry.

This role is for a 2nd/3rd line engineer who may have hit a glass ceiling in their current company and wants to progress their career. You’ll need a forward‑looking approach to technology and product offerings, as this MSP is seeking someone who can contribute above and beyond standard support work.

In a managed services environment, the role is end to end and you’ll be involved through design, deployment, and ongoing service, so a broad background is beneficial.

We’re looking for a strong Microsoft‑biased engineer who has experience working within an MSP. As this role is customer facing, it will suit someone with a solid service provider background. A typical profile includes strong all‑round IT skills: Windows Desktop and Server, Virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), AD, Azure, Networking, etc., which is common for MSP experience.

This is an adult environment, so you’re not chained to your desk five days a week. The MSP values its staff and offers hybrid working from the start; many engineers prefer to be in the office for camaraderie.

Responsibilities

• Provide 3rd line support and project involvement for an MSP environment.
• Contribute to design, deployment, and ongoing service delivery.
• Engage with customers in a service‑oriented, professional manner.
• Propose and implement ideas to enhance service offerings and technology usage.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth delivery and progression within the team.

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft bias with experience in an MSP or service provider setting.
• Windows Desktop and Server administration.
• Virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), Active Directory, Azure.
• Networking knowledge and overall IT skills relevant to MSP work.
