Job Description:
Our Aerospace client
based in Bristol, UK, requires several Design Engineers on a contractor basis, to further support their programs. A hybrid working model of 3 days onsite per week and 2 days working from home is accepted.The Design Engineers will develop, integrate and implement technical solutions for high-profile programmes of work. They will help ensure designs are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements and internal standards within the programme, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
They will share responsibility in the design of structural aircraft and helicopter components, identifying technical problems and creating solutions. The design engineer will work with both metal and composite structures and different assembly techniques. They will be part of a multidisciplinary team alongside analysis engineers, manufacturing engineers, cost engineers, and tooling engineers.
Their work will span all phases of a programme, from conceptual design to detailed drawings/models, and up to manufacturing support, proposing changes for weight and cost savings.
They will integrate requirements from other engineering disciplines into the design to ensure a cost-effective and producible product.
Required skills include:
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA V5, NX / 3DX
- Experience with PLM software like Windchill, 3DX
- Experience in designing composite structures, including CAD tools like CPD and FiberSim
Candidates should be comfortable working closely in a team and onsite 3 days per week. These roles are offered under an inside IR35 basis, paid PAYE through Strongfield Consultants.
