AI Agent Automation Engineer (IBM Watson Orchestrate) This role is part of establishing and expanding our AI practice, focusing on identifying client needs and crafting AI solutions aligned with our capabilities. You will collaborate with sales, product, and technical teams to demonstrate value and lay the groundwork for successful client engagements and sustainable growth. Role Purpose Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions using IBM Watsonx Orchestrate Platform. This role encompasses AI engineering, backend development, and data lakehouse engineering. Key Responsibilities

AI Solution Development: Utilize the watsonx platform to co-create AI solutions with clients, focusing on patterns that enhance repeatability and client satisfaction. Client Engagement: Collaborate with technical leaders across sales teams to drive experiential client engagements, often developing 4-to-6-week pilot projects. Model Design and Deployment: Design, build, and deploy AI models using watsonx.ai, integrating with back-end systems to form comprehensive AI solutions. Data Lakehouse Engineering: Assist in the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of data lakehouse architectures using IBM watsonx data. Needs Assessment: Conduct discovery sessions with potential clients to understand challenges, objectives, and AI requirements, with supporting business cases. Solution Presentations: Communicate the value proposition of AI offerings through tailored presentations and demonstrations. Proposal Development: Work with sales and technical teams to craft well-defined AI solutions and proposals that align with client expectations. Relationship Building: Build relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor on the watsonx platform. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on AI technology developments, competitor offerings, and industry trends to refine the AI practice. Sales Support: Provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process to help the sales team address client problems and objections. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product, marketing, and leadership to drive product enhancements and align offerings with goals. Sales Enablement: Develop pre-sales collateral and AI-related resources (including WatsonX), case studies, and documentation.

Skills and Experience

Experience with programming languages such as Python and familiarity with machine learning/AI technologies, especially foundational models. Ability to deliver new features, participate in testing, and work with Git and CI/CD tools. Experience in software testing, particularly for web applications or AI-based systems, with Python-based test automation. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; master’s degree preferred for certain roles. Passion for AI and emerging technologies, with a drive to shape the AI practice. Ability to learn quickly and stay informed about AI advancements and best practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven experience in sales, pre-sales, or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required. Enthusiasm for a startup-style environment within a larger business, with a hands-on, proactive approach. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a willingness to contribute to the broader team. Openness to exploring new ideas and experimenting with approaches to develop the AI practice. Eligibility to obtain Government and/or Police security clearances required for the role (no caveats).
