AI-Enhanced Workflows At WebLife, we're seeking an Automation Engineer to revolutionize our workflow automation capabilities across our e-commerce ecosystem. As a 16-year pioneering force in e-commerce and the largest distributor of mailboxes across the U.S. with over $250M in all-time revenue, we need a technical expert who can design sophisticated automation solutions that leverage both traditional integrations and emerging AI technologies. This role combines deep expertise in workflow automation platforms with the ability to enhance these workflows using AI/LLM capabilities, operating in our flexible work-from-home environment while supporting our global automation initiatives from our WebLife Labs division in Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

Workflow Design and Implementation

• Design, develop, and deploy complex automation workflows using platforms like n8n to optimize business processes across departments

• Build integrations between multiple systems including e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce), CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce), marketing tools, and internal databases

• Enhance traditional workflows with AI capabilities for intelligent decision-making and automated content generation • Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure workflow reliability and performance AI-Enhanced Integration Development

• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into existing workflows for tasks like customer query processing, product description generation, and data enrichment

• Develop intelligent automation that can understand context and make decisions based on business rules and AI insights

• Build conversational interfaces that connect AI assistants with our e-commerce and CRM systems

• Implement prompt engineering strategies to maximize the effectiveness of AI-powered automations Process Optimization and Analysis

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities in order processing, inventory management, and customer service

• Analyze existing e-commerce workflows and recommend improvements using both traditional automation and AI enhancements

• Create hybrid workflows that combine rule-based automation with AI-driven decision points • Monitor workflow performance metrics and implement optimizations for speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness Technical Integration Management

• Develop and maintain API integrations with e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, shipping providers, and marketing tools

• Design data transformation logic to ensure seamless information flow between CRM, inventory, and financial systems

• Implement webhook-based automations for real-time order processing and customer communication

• Build intelligent data pipelines that can clean, enrich, and validate e-commerce data using AI when beneficial Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Research and evaluate new automation technologies, including AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI) for potential implementation

• Develop proof-of-concepts that demonstrate how AI can enhance existing e-commerce workflows

• Create reusable workflow templates that incorporate both traditional and AI-powered components

• Document best practices for combining workflow automation with AI technologies

Requirements /Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in workflow automation, preferably in e-commerce environments

• Strong proficiency in workflow automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar)

• Hands-on experience with e-commerce APIs (Shopify, WooCommerce) and CRM integrations • Understanding of AI/LLM integration concepts and experience with AI frameworks is highly valued

• Experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and various authentication methods

• Solid understanding of JSON, data structures, and data transformation techniques

• Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and query optimization

• Experience with international clients, preferably US/UK/Australia markets

• Advanced workflow development including complex branching, loops, and error handling • Proficiency in integrating e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, marketing tools, and payment gateways

Understanding of AI integration patterns and prompt engineering (experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks preferred)

• Experience with data pipeline development and ETL processes

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with cloud platforms for hosting automation solutions
