We’re working with a mission-led healthtech company advancing mental health research and supporting real-world NHS applications. They are now hiring an AI Engineer to join their growing technical team focused on deploying AI and NLP applications at scale.

You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, researchers, and engineers to translate cutting-edge models into production systems, helping deliver impactful clinical tools and insights.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building infrastructure to deploy NLP and AI models into production
  • Developing backend services and workflows using Python, SQL, and orchestration tools
  • Supporting MLOps, monitoring, and reproducibility of deployed systems
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to operationalise research outputs
  • Writing clean, well-documented code and contributing to testing frameworks

What we’re looking for

  • Solid Python engineering experience and familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow), queuing systems (e.g. RabbitMQ), and Redis
  • Experience working with or deploying NLP models or large language models
  • Understanding of reproducibility, testing, and modern software practices
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Background in healthcare, research environments, or data science teams
  • Experience working with EHR data, Spark, or optimised SQL pipelines

Location & Working Pattern

This is a hybrid role, with 1–2 days per week on-site in either the Oxford or London office. Team days and in-person collaboration are a key part of the working culture.
