A prestigious global commodity trading firm tare offering the opportunity for an experienced AI Engineer with specialist knowledge in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to join their trading teams. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-class trading environment and play a central role in driving the adoption of next-generation AI capabilities across critical business functions.

The Role

The successful candidate will be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge language technologies into real-world trading and operational applications. From building intelligent knowledge systems to optimising workflows and decision-making tools, you will be expected to translate the potential of advanced AI into tangible business impact.

  • Designing, developing, and deploying LLM-driven applications tailored to the commodity trading domain.
  • Collaborating with traders, analysts, and technologists to identify opportunities for AI innovation.
  • Leading the integration of generative AI solutions into existing systems and platforms.
  • Ensuring scalability, security, and performance of deployed AI models.
  • Staying ahead of emerging trends in machine learning and applying them pragmatically.

The Requirements

We are looking for an individual who can combine strong technical ability with business acumen. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Proven expertise in Generative AI and LLMs, with demonstrable project experience.
  • Strong software engineering background with exposure to AI/ML deployment in production.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud (highly desirable).
  • Previous exposure to commodity trading or financial services (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a Hybrid role in London 2/3d per week and inside IR35 with a day rate around 1000-1100/d (flexible depending on experience).
