Key Responsibilities

Join our team as an HVAC Technician and take charge of maintaining and optimising building comfort systems. You’ll:
• Inspect, repair, and install a wide range of HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, compressors, pumps, and cooling towers.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and respond to faults across heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure peak performance.
• Diagnose and fix issues with electrical components, controls, thermostats, motors, and wiring.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient working conditions.
• Monitor and test systems, including boiler operations and water quality, making necessary adjustments.
• Install and calibrate HVAC systems, pipework, valves, and safety components.
• Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and company policies.
• Support contractor management, issuing permits and overseeing workmanship to meet standards.
• Proactively report facilities issues, keeping the customer experience front and centre.
• Evaluate system performance and ensure contracted services meet operational criteria.

Professional and personal competencies/qualifications

• Knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade and theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Experience of materials, methods, and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations pertaining to HVAC, refrigeration, and boilers.
• Experience with air compressors and pneumatic controls.
• Knowledge of cooling towers and boiler water treatment.
• Knowledge of manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
• Experience of welding and soldering techniques.
• Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements.
• Evidence of training and competence in managing High Risk Works (Mechanical)
