About the Data & Analytics team

Join our expanding Data & Analytics team at Elkjøp, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our central Marketing operations. Our team builds a central data warehouse and supports the entire business, with a strong focus on strategic initiatives, through advanced analytics and ML solutions. We're committed to driving consistency, quality, and strategic alignment across all our data initiatives. You'll collaborate with a talented group of data engineers, machine learning experts, and analysts to deliver high-impact insights and models that directly shape critical business decisions.

About the Role

We're seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our growing team, with a primary focus on supporting our marketing operations and our exciting, ongoing personalization efforts. This is a fantastic opportunity for a critical thinker eager to apply their analytical skills in a dynamic retail environment, directly contributing to high-visibility and high-impact strategic initiatives.

You'll be instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable business recommendations, helping us truly understand customer behavior, optimize marketing campaigns, and drive our personalization efforts forward.

This role demands a detail-oriented individual who thrives on finding clarity in data and communicating those findings effectively to diverse business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in our personalization efforts by analyzing the Customer Engagement Platform (CEP) to deepen our understanding of customer behavior and improve customer experiences.
  • Translate data-driven findings, including the discovery of potential areas for improvement, into actionable recommendations that drive business results.
  • Contribute to the design and development of dashboards with our BI developers, enabling effective decision-making for marketing stakeholders.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis, evaluating past performance and identifying emerging trends to inform future marketing and customer strategies.
  • Write efficient and well-structured SQL queries and Python scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and their application in business analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a good understanding of relational databases.
  • Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain data findings clearly and concisely.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with A/B testing methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • A keen interest in data modeling and practical experience with tools like DBT or Snowflake.
  • Strong interest in or direct experience with marketing analytics, and/or analyzing web and CRM data.
  • Exposure to or understanding of personalization concepts and Customer Engagement Platforms (CEPs).
  • Demonstrated interest in or some experience solving unstructured business problems with data and translating insights into actionable business recommendations, alongside measuring their success.
