Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control and Automation

On behalf of our client, an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field-based Area Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager to join a first-class business. The role involves selling a range of high-quality Industrial Automation products, including PLCs, Control Gear, Switchgear and Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI and Process Instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Sell a range of high-quality Industrial Automation products into OEMs, End Users, System Integrators and Panel Builders across South Yorkshire and parts of Derbyshire (including Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley, Chesterfield, Worksop).
• Develop and manage an existing portfolio of accounts while identifying new business opportunities to achieve defined sales targets.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and present solutions that meet customer needs, supporting the sales process from qualification to close.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful delivery of solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Sales and technical experience in the Industrial Automation industry with a proven track record of sales success.
• A formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline to ONC/HND or above is desirable but not essential; demonstrated knowledge and sales ability is acceptable.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team while also operating with a degree of autonomy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft packages.
