We're looking for an Assistant Materials Engineer to join our KierBAM Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall based in Plymouth, Devon.

Location : Site Based, Plymouth, Devon Hours : Permanent, Full Time What will you be responsible for? As an Assistant Materials Engineer, you'll be working within the Nuclear team, supporting them in delivering the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Your day to day will include: Developing a detailed understanding of project specifications and the technical aspects of the proposed construction materials design, supply, use and testing with the site project team and/or designer and/or client. Ability to advise on required derogations and amendments of requirements, specifications, etc; Providing technical advice to the project teams, with support from the Lead Materials Engineer, regarding suitability and use of concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, reinforcing steel and any other constituent materials used in the production of construction materials. Providing technical advice to the project teams on the preparation of Material Acceptance Requests, monitoring any subsequent feedback and any technical queries thereon for concrete, asphalt, earthworks materials, aggregates, reinforcing steel and any other relevant construction materials. Coordination of materials specifications, ITP requirements and supply chain materials management during mobilization and works execution; What are we looking for? This role of Assistant Materials Engineer is great for you if: HND /HNC / NVQ in a relevant subject beneficial; Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Materials or Earthworks is desirable; Preferably an industry accredited safety training eg.
