Job Description:
The Position
Join a globally recognized professional services firm as an Associate Electrical Engineer. You will work across sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, environment, building, power, energy, water, and mining.
You will take a leading role in prestigious projects within a team of 10 engineers, part of a larger group of 35 engineers across Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health specializations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Meet the requirements for an Associate Electrical Engineer and have a proven track record in project delivery.
- Provide design and technical advice within a multidisciplinary team, acting as a project manager.
- Supervise detailed design completion and oversee the work of others.
- Assess project feasibility and lead feasibility studies.
- Produce detailed and performance specifications for projects.
- Serve as the key client contact and ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations and KPIs.
- Work under client direction, interpreting project needs to ensure full delivery.
- Maintain security clearance (BPSS minimum).
- Manage junior staff development and line management.
- Coordinate team resources and hold regular team meetings on project and team issues.
Electrical Skills
- Low voltage distribution systems
- Cable calculations (ElectricalOM, Amtech, or manual)
- Lighting calculations (software and manual)
- Energy lighting, small power, fire detection & alarm, intruder detection, access control & security systems, disabled call systems, data cabling, lightning protection
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc/MEng in relevant engineering discipline
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council)
- Revit MEP training applied to discipline
