OverviewAudio Visual Installation Engineer — Smart Home Automation — Residential. Location: North London (covering projects across London and surrounding areas). Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum. Contract: Full-time, permanent.RoleAs a Multiroom AV & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of advanced AV and automation systems. Typical duties will include:Installing and configuring multi-room audio-visual systems, home cinema setups, and smart home automation solutions.Installing and mounting large TVs, projector equipment, and associated hardware.Building, wiring, and labelling AV racks to a professional, neat, and efficient standard.Terminating and testing Cat5/6 cables, sockets, and networked equipment.Fault-finding and troubleshooting issues across AV, networking, and control systems.Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.Ensuring all installations meet health & safety requirements and follow industry best practices.Providing a high level of customer service and professionalism on-site.Skills & Experience2-3 years\' experience within the AV / Home Automation industry.Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in multiroom AV systems, home cinema, and automation technologies.Proven ability to install, connect, and configure audio-visual equipment.Competence in terminating Cat5/6 cables and general networking knowledge.Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.Good practical ability and understanding of construction procedures.High standards of workmanship with strong attention to detail.Ability to work efficiently, remain calm under pressure, and deliver results to deadlines.Full UK driving licence.ECS card (essential).What the Client OfferOpportunity to work with a leading North London smart home specialist on prestigious residential projects.A chance to be part of a supportive, skilled, and professional team.Competitive salary package (depending on experience).Ongoing training and development opportunities to grow your skills and career in the AV and home automation sector.Company vehicle, tools, and uniform provided.Ideal CandidateThis role would suit a driven and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a hands-on technical environment.
