Our Telford based client has been established for almost 20 years and are recognised as leading providers of hardware and software design through to robot systems integration and commissioning on a range of bespoke automation solutions for diverse UK clients. They are seeking an experienced Automation Project Engineer to complement their Projects team. ResponsibilitiesSupport multiple projects with monitoring and delivery in line with project manager guidance.Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and associated control layouts in accordance with FDS requirements, including Safety Matrix and Device List information.Develop automation solutions with technical documents using features, diagrams, and language aligned to client needs.Maintain responsibility for project gateway sign-off for automation, including FDS, electrical design (AutoCAD layouts and conversion of mechanical layouts into control layouts), FAT, installation planning, commissioning, and final acceptance testing.Manage project resources, ensuring materials are identified, within budget, ordered, and delivered to site on schedule.Create project documentation to satisfy CE/UKCA marking requirements.Coordinate with and support fellow team members, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety legislation and providing weekly project updates on task status.Travel as required and attend meetings at related facilities; participate in training as needed and work autonomously or as part of the team in both on-site and workshop environments.Demonstrate scheduling, prioritization, budget management, task management, and risk management; typically with at least 3 years of project management experience in a logistics automation environment, with knowledge of electrical/PLC design and development (ideally from conveyor, robotics, or automotive sectors). Qualifications and SkillsProven experience in project management within a logistics automation environment.Strong knowledge of electrical/PLC design and development.Experience with conveyor, robotics, or automotive automation preferred.Excellent organizational and communication skills at all levels.
