About the role

Job Title: Avionic Systems Engineer – Clearance (Qualification + Certification)

Location: Warton. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £47,683+ depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Generation of clearance documentation (e.g., SQS/NCQC/ADOM).
• Assessing certification evidence support and impact of shortfalls; presenting certification to SDR for sign-off.
• Identifying and tracking clearance dependencies; collaborating with AJT and AVS Sub System teams.
• Working with external assessors to secure independent clearance approval.
• Tracking and managing clearance baselines across product sets.
• Assessing traceability of clearance evidence.
• Supporting clearance programme reviews.

Essential skills and experiences:

• Knowledge of the Typhoon platform.
• Understanding of qualification & certification processes.
• Ability to work within standards and procedures, with an understanding of configuration control.

Desirable skills:

• Degree in STEM or equivalent experience/qualifications.
• Experience with JIRA Agile project management tool.

The team: The role is within the AJT Systems Engineering Team supporting the Typhoon Avionics Systems, working on current and future projects, closely collaborating with customers and partner nations. The AJT is responsible for Avionics Systems Architecture, Design, and Qualification, with this role supporting the qualification and certification of strategic avionic products, including Typhoon avionics design changes. As a senior engineer, you will operate with autonomy, assist the Group Leader, coach junior members, and have opportunities for progression.
