This role is to join an enterprise-scale business, and an instantly recognisable household name. Their Cloud strategy is in its infancy and they’re looking for their first Cloud Platform Engineer to join a new Engineering team.

You’ll need to be a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative, and thrive in an environment where you may not have all the answers immediately. The role will offer the Azure Cloud Platform Engineer the opportunity to really make tangible contributions to the Cloud strategy and technical toolkit selection.

The role is inside IR35 and will run to the end of March 2026 initially. There will be extensions and it is expected to go on for 2-3 years at least. The Azure Cloud Platform Engineer will need to be onsite in central London 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement, and support Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Automate deployments, monitoring, and management using Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar).
  • Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to ensure highly available, resilient, and secure solutions.
  • Optimise performance, cost, and scalability across cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and provide expert-level support for Azure-based workloads.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Networking, Security).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM).
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security best practices.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent) are a plus.

The rate is flexible depending on experience but is expected to be in the range of £650-750 inside IR35.
