One of our clients is currently seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to lead their annual bridge improvement programme. Key skills required for this role Important Location: LondonDuration: 12 months (with potential extension) We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bridge Engineer to support the delivery of a Bridges Improvement Plan across multiple sites in London. This high-impact initiative aims to enhance various bridge structures, ensuring safety, functionality, and community relevance in the lead-up to April 2026. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee improvements to various bridge assets across the borough Assess bridge conditions and determine appropriate interventions Coordinate with project managers and artists to integrate artistic features where required Engage with the local community to ensure alignment with local needs and feedback Develop detailed project briefs, scopes of work, and timelines Supervise on-site activities to ensure quality and safety standards are met Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve logistical challenges Prepare technical reports and regular progress updates

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in highway and bridge engineering Strong understanding of public sector project delivery and stakeholder engagement Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against tight deadlines Skilled in preparing comprehensive technical documentation and project briefs Excellent communication and collaboration skills Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Be part of a city-wide infrastructure upgrade initiative Gain experience in community-focused and creative engineering projects Supportive working environment with professional development opportunities Work on diverse bridge assets including structural and public realm enhancements
