Building Services Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) Based in a College\nLocation: London\nSalary: Competitive + Benefits\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Services Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to join a well-established estates and facilities team for a lovely college in South East London. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and compliance of electrical systems across multiple sites. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, while ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations.\nKey Responsibilities\n * \n Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical systems including lighting, distribution boards, control panels, and emergency systems.\n * \n Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.\n * \n Conduct statutory inspection and testing in line with BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).\n * \n Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset registers, and compliance documentation.\n * \n Manage and supervise external contractors, ensuring safe and high-quality delivery of works.\n * \n Support wider estates operations as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.\n * \n Respond to emergency breakdowns and occasional out-of-hours call-outs.\nAbout You (Essential Skills & Experience)\n * \n Vocational qualification in the electrical industry.\n * \n Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance.\n * \n 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) certification.\n * \n Strong ability to fault-find, inspect, test, and certify electrical systems.\n * \n Knowledge of statutory building services regulations.\n * \n Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.\n * \n Strong IT literacy for reporting and CAFM systems.\n * \n Full UK Driving Licence.\nDesirable:\n * \n Experience working on large commercial buildings.\n * \n Knowledge of large plant and machinery.\n * \n Experience within the education, healthcare, or facilities sector.\n * \n Willingness to undertake further training across multiple disciplines.\nWhat’s on Offer\n * \n Competitive salary package.\n * \n Ongoing training and professional development.\n * \n A supportive team culture in a well-established organisation.\n * \n Opportunities to broaden your skills in a multi-disciplined environment
