About us

KURY UK Ltd is part of an international company, Kury Groupe, 100% dedicated to the nuclear field with 23 years of experience in nuclear engineering. We work with EDF and are involved in several nuclear projects including FA3 EPR, the French fleet, Taishan EPR, Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. We are looking for engineers to join our team in the UK. Our human-sized structure (100 employees worldwide) allows us to devote to mentoring and training our engineers and to providing quality projects that develop skills. Our values are Curiosity, Trust, Rigour, Teamwork. Our team is international and we seek the best talents.

Suitable candidate

You enjoy analysing concrete problems, finding solutions and implementing them. You are drawn to significant industrial and engineering projects with strong safety requirements. You have strong analytical skills, logical thinking, and the ability to synthesize information to adapt to multi-system environments. You can adapt to new technical problems and have the ability to manage a small team. You value working on projects and quality matters and are a team player.

The role

As a Cable Expert Engineer, you will design, develop and review the cable routing network of the project in alignment with UK cabling rules and UK nuclear regulation. You will perform engineering analyses, including supporting calculations, to produce required documentation. You will act as a central point of contact for electrical activities and will perform the following tasks:

  • Concatenate and check input data for cabling activity.
  • Evaluate data maturity provided by systems, equipment contracts, I&C and cabling engineers.
  • Produce documents for the cable list, including the voltage plan, summary table and related calculation notes.
  • Produce documents for the electrical sub-distribution sequence.
  • Monitor design office deliverables to ensure compliance with the quality management system.
  • Draft client deliverables to be used as input for site activities.
  • Identify, monitor and progress open points, design changes and interfaces to maintain activity maturity, traceability and configuration management.
  • Provide reporting and indicators for the project within the team and to the client for Electrical Cabling scope.
  • Support technical discussions with the client for the assigned scope.
  • Monitor and manage interfaces with cable lists produced by contract holders.
  • Ensure consistency of electrical penetration and cable routing design.
  • Provide output data reports (reliable cable paths and lengths) meeting UK routing rules (lifetime margins, safety function integrity, electrical segregation).
  • Interface with the layout team to provide routing reports for trays filling rates and to address queries affecting routing production (3D model quality checks, electrical opening management, cable tray design).
  • Assess feasibility studies for design changes or open points impacting routing; perform risk assessments and mitigation for critical modifications.
  • Provide user feedback on routing software, participate in beta testing where applicable.
  • Communicate progress in routing weekly follow-up meetings and with the layout/management board.
  • Provide training on cable routing software and discipline, rules and regulations.
  • Participate in experience-sharing activities and lessons learned from other projects.

During the first months, the KURY Team will assist you on projects, with opportunities to move on to other projects and topics, developing understanding of technical and environmental challenges to tackle complex transversal studies.
