This role offers the opportunity to work on projects across Nuclear New Build, Decommissioning, existing Nuclear Generation and Nuclear Fusion. You will be rapidly entrusted with more responsibility as you progress.

Your Working Environment

You will be part of a diverse Electrical, Control & Instrumentation team, with colleagues from over 10 countries. You will have access to major industry players and may have the opportunity to engage in non-technical areas if interested. We support flexible/hybrid working to suit individual needs, including possibilities such as reduced weeks or additional leave during school holidays and assistance for those returning from a career break.

Your Purpose

In C&I we work through the Project Life Cycle, covering activities needed to deliver a project from concept to decommissioning. Typical activities include:

  • Tendering (production of bids / proposals and winning the job)
  • Concept Design (identifying client requirements, optioneering solutions, estimating costs and delivery schedule)
  • Detailed Design (developing, reviewing, HAZOP, HAZAN, FMEA and substantiating the design to a point where equipment could be supplied and installed)
  • Supply (procurement, manufacture, testing, inspection and qualification of equipment)
  • Installation (installation, testing and commissioning of plant and equipment at site) and Decommissioning (dismantling a site to the point that radiation protection measures are no longer required)
  • All activities involve C&I engineers; you may have been involved in one or more areas or wish to explore new areas of the lifecycle
  • Depending on project size, you may work as part of a team or individually, but you will always be part of a team and supported
  • You will take responsibility for the delivery of your work and work closely with clients and stakeholders both remotely and on site
  • To benefit from the team and client experience, you will work in a collaborative and supportive office/site environment for a minimum of half of your working week

What Can You Bring

  • Relevant qualifications in electronic engineering, control engineering, safety-critical systems or equivalent
  • A few years of experience as a C&I Engineer with solid engineering judgment
  • Ability to produce and review technical reports and drawings to a high standard
  • Effective time management skills
