We are currently seeking a Senior / Principal C&I Engineer to join the Decommissioning & Waste Services market within our Nuclear & Power business. Ideally based in Northwest England, although other locations UK-wide can be considered. You will work in our market which focuses on delivering engineering and waste management projects for clients within the Nuclear Decommissioning sector, with some projects in other stages of the nuclear lifecycle. We tackle projects with varied engineering, nuclear, and safety challenges, requiring proactive, mixed-skill teams working collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions.

The Role

You will join an existing EC&I team and be responsible for delivering complex design packages for key nuclear clients. You will oversee and develop current engineers and collaborate with wider disciplines within the engineering group. The role involves leading projects or demonstrating strong capabilities to contribute autonomously to multi-disciplinary design delivery with minimal oversight. Key skills include:

• Supporting estimate development for scope of work and resources.
• Developing design solutions within time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Understanding contractual and performance requirements for systems and supporting their definition through design, build, and commissioning.
• Producing documentation for design review, including diagrams, specifications, calculations, and evidence.
• Ensuring comprehensive design proving evidence and compliance with contractual and safety standards.
• Reviewing supplier documentation and conducting design reviews and presentations to customers.

The Individual

The successful candidate should demonstrate experience in:

• Full lifecycle engineering.
• Technical report writing and design justification.
• Technical presentations and factory acceptance tests.
• Instrumentation and control systems, electrical circuit design, safety integrity levels, machinery safety, PLC programming, or fieldbus technology.
