We are recruiting multiple Civil Design Engineers (Water) with wastewater and/or clean water networks experience for major long-term water industry frameworks across the UK. This includes involvement with a £100 million single-award framework from United Utilities to support river health improvements across the Northwest, and collaboration with Tetra Tech and RPS.
Under this 10-year framework, Tetra Tech will drive program optimisation, develop solutions, and select preferred options based on best value, lowest carbon, and cost. Our mission is to deliver exceptional water services to foster a resilient, eco-friendly, and thriving Northwest. The North West is the preferred location for this role, though other locations may be considered.
About The Team
We are a team of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy development to Water Industry clients to support business planning and delivery. This is an evolving industry requiring innovation, dedication, and teamwork to meet client needs. In addition to United Utilities, we work with several major water companies across the UK with a broad portfolio of long-term framework agreements. Our Water Consultancy business leads AMP8 and beyond, offering long-term career opportunities.
About You
As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team on capital delivery projects. You will contribute to optioneering, outline and detailed design, and work on technically demanding wastewater infrastructure projects. You will help deliver great projects for Water Industry clients and make a meaningful impact on communities.
Your Responsibilities
- Interacting with clients to grasp their specific needs and preferences.
- Creating outline and detailed design drawings, and construction-ready documentation.
- Input into Feasibility-level designs and Optioneering assessments.
- Producing concise design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables (outline and detailed design as well as construction-ready documentation).
- Collaborating with contractors, supply chain, and project stakeholders.
- Mentoring and supporting the professional development of graduate engineers.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical design across multiple disciplines within project environments.
- Effective motivation, influencing, and people management skills.
- Good working knowledge of relevant British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and Water Specifications.
Qualifications
- Preferably degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Affiliation with a professional institution (IET, InstMC, CIWEM) or in progress towards membership.
