Seeking an SC-cleared AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement and optimise cloud data platforms. The role focuses on AWS data services, IaC, CI/CD, and orchestration, supporting secure and scalable data operations.

Location: London/Manchester and remote options available if you are outside of these locations.

Contract: 6-month fixed term with option for permanent position.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Batch, Lambda, OpenSearch).
• Deliver Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Manage workflows using Airflow and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).
• Monitor and secure data infrastructure, access, and usage.
• Support data engineering environments with recovery, optimisation, and automation.
• Troubleshoot issues and contribute to process/documentation improvements.

Experience:

• Strong AWS services experience (S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Batch, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, EMR).
• Terraform (IaC), Airflow (orchestration), CI/CD (YAML, GitLab/GitHub).
• Python, SQL, Bash.
• AWS security/IAM, VPC networking, Docker.
• Backup and disaster recovery knowledge.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.
• Agile ways of working.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative team player.
• AWS Neptune/EKS, Jira Service Desk.
• Experience supporting data engineers or consulting roles.
• Documentation (README, Confluence).
