Support machine commissioning activities including HSE assessments for PUWER and implementation of SSOW where required. Evaluate current CAD models for components, tools and fixtures and ensure suitability for CAM processing. Evaluate current machining approach, identify opportunities for improvement and develop CAM routines for implementation to achieve product and process requirements. Implement, test and validate processes for each product type including offline measurement and support for First Article approval. Commission, configure and implement on machine verification measurement system and generate data to enable process approval including required reports. Generate process documentation including control plans for critical process variables, data collection and training materials (SOPs) for operations including normal use, cleaning, changeover and routine maintenance tasks. Optimise the process to enable efficient flow of materials, this may include cell layout and identification of materials handling systems. Create and report against project plan for delivery of the project, identifying and escalating risks as needed to ensure successful implementation and handover to the operations team. Coach and impart specialist knowledge to the site manufacturing engineering team in the correct management of CNC machining processes and equipment. You will ensure EHS policy and process adherence for your activities, and you will contribute to a proactive EHS culture in the wider team. Experience required (flexible) You should have a broad interest in Aerospace engineering with an understanding of equipment Health and Safety requirements related to CNC / CMM processes as well as an appreciation for aerospace manufacturing regulatory system requirements. This is a hands on role, but will require you to take a proactive approach in working with stakeholders across the business to ensure your project is executed to plan. You will need to be comfortable providing project and technical updates, as well as writing technical documentation. • You will be naturally curious, and show a strong interest in aviation and aerospace engineering technology. • Experience of working with and creating CAD models and drawings, preferably CATIA V5 or later, for use in later CAM software packages. • Experience with PowerMill and Vericut software packages. • Experience with Siemens Sinumerik CNC controllers and interfaces. • Experience with CMM measurement systems, and on machine verification systems. • Experience of Configuration Control & Change Management and use of PLM systems • You will be a strong self-starter, able to execute tasks according to plan. • You will have a logical and methodical approach to task planning and be able to demonstrate an evidence-based approach to decision making and problem solving. • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to meet objectives. • Possess good oral and written communication skills, able to create clear, concise and accurate technical content. • Working knowledge of MS Office suite. Desirable: • An awareness of Aerospace certification requirements. • Previous experience in Aerospace sector • Awareness of other functions' interfaces (Maintenance & Facilities, Operations, Production, and Supplier Management).
