Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Sutton, Surrey (covering London, Greater London and the South of England)

Our client, established in 2003, provides specialist Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) service support to the commercial building maintenance sector. With a strong reputation and a highly skilled mobile team, they deliver professional and reliable service across a wide portfolio of clients.

They are now seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team. This is a mobile role, carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and small installation works across commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out service, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of commercial gas appliances and heating systems.

* Perform testing and inspection of gas and mechanical systems in line with industry standards.

* Ensure plant and systems are maintained and operated for maximum efficiency, availability and reliability.

* Undertake remedial and refurbishment works following breakdowns or maintenance inspections.

* Carry out minor new installations and associated testing.

Skills & Experience

* Fully qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer.

* Strong technical knowledge with excellent fault-finding skills.

* Good communication and customer service skills.

* Full, clean UK driving licence (no more than 3 penalty points).

Required / Desired Gas Qualifications

The successful candidate should ideally hold the following (or equivalent):

* BMP1 – Boosters, low pressure

* CCN1 – Core domestic gas safety

* CDGA1 – Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial direct-fired appliances & equipment

* CIGA1 – Commission, service, repair & breakdown of commercial indirect-fired appliances & equipment

* CODNCO1 – Changeover domestic to commercial natural gas

* CORT1 – Overhead luminous radiant plaque & radiant tube heaters (desirable, not essential)

* CPA1 – Combustion performance analysis

* ICPN1 – Installation of commercial pipework

* TPCP1A – Testing & purging of low-pressure commercial pipework

Additional Information

Some of our client’s projects involve Government departments, so successful candidates will be required to pass Home Office Security Vetting (SC clearance).
