Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer (Permanent Position)

Location: Mobile – covering Bristol and surrounding areas

Hours: 40 per week + On Call Rota (1 in 5)

Package and Benefits

  • Basic salary £23-£24 per hour / £47,840 - £49,920 (overtime available)
  • Mon – Friday 40 hours
  • Travel time paid door to door
  • £100 retainer for standby (on-call)
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with length of service)
  • Company van + fuel card (private use option available)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join one of the UK's leading HVAC contractors. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, and installations across a range of commercial sites including pubs, care homes, and warehouses in the Bristol region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend client sites to complete servicing, maintenance, breakdowns, and installations on commercial gas and plumbing systems.
  • Work independently to diagnose faults and deliver first-time fixes where possible.
  • Accurately complete job documentation and liaise with the service desk.
  • Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 5).
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial and Domestic Gas qualifications.
  • COMCAT 1, 3, and 5 qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong experience across gas and plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Additional certifications (e.g. OFTEC, IPAF, PASMA) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver a professional service.

Additional Information

  • This is a mobile role with regular travel across the Bristol region (estimated up to 30,000 miles annually).
  • Occasional overnight stays may be required.
