Overview

Commissioning Engineer / Lead Commissioning Engineer / Data Centre Engineer required to join a market-leading global electrical manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver commissioning of MV/HV power distribution systems across EMEA data centres.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, reliability, and uptime standards.
  • Oversee testing, compliance, and project execution; mentor engineers and manage contractors to guarantee technical excellence.
  • Work with mission-critical environments and travel extensively across EMEA as required.
  • Audit and lead protection testing, including secondary injection, relay configuration, breaker timing, load bank and diagnostic checks.
  • Deliver FAT/SAT, functional testing, and fault diagnostics in mission-critical environments.
  • Act as AP/AE for HV switching, isolation, and electrical safety compliance.
  • Lead and mentor commissioning teams to ensure safety and technical excellence in Tier III/IV data centres.
  • Troubleshoot and integrate with SCADA/BMS platforms; manage client handovers across EMEA projects.

Requirements

  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive MV/HV commissioning experience (11kV-33kV): RMUs, VCBs, AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, UPS, STS, and protection relays.
  • Expertise in protection testing: secondary injection, relay setup, breaker testing, and fault analysis.
  • Proven track record in mission-critical environments (ideally Tier III/IV data centres) with knowledge of redundancy systems (N+1, 2N).
  • Skilled in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault-finding of complex MV/HV installations.
  • Experience as AP/AE for HV switching and electrical safety compliance.
  • Strong leadership to mentor, supervise, and direct commissioning teams.
  • Flexibility to travel extensively across EMEA to lead international projects.
