Overview
This role is based in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire. As a Senior Operational Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our team meets its support and contractual obligations for maintenance, service, and warranty activities. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with international engineering teams and project management to address issues and report on progress. You will coordinate ensuring team members are equipped with the necessary tools, training, and competencies to perform their jobs effectively, and you will manage open support cases and spare parts in line with asset management guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the team meets support and contractual obligations for maintenance, service, and warranty activities while leading technicians and engineers.
- Liaise with engineering teams across multiple countries for issue escalation and collaborate with project management to report progress and address project concerns.
- Ensure team members have the necessary tools, training, and competencies to perform their jobs effectively and safely.
- Handle open support cases, drive resolutions, and coordinate spare parts management while aligning with business policies and asset management guidelines.
- Implement and monitor Asset Management Plans, ensuring integration with business processes and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Participate in a 24/7 standby rota, providing flexible support and ensuring project-related KPIs and SLAs are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a maintenance role within industrial sites or electrical substations.
- Proficient in IT, including MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven organizational skills, demonstrating the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities successfully.
- Evidence of effective teamwork, showcasing collaboration and support within a team environment.
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and risk management processes, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
