Controls Systems Engineer Requirements You’ll be involved in a range of hands-on commissioning tasks at various project sites in the UK. Responsibilities may include: * Verifying correct installation of equipment before testing begins * Conducting system testing according to established commissioning plans * Running PLC data input/output tests and checking correct communication with field devices * Setting up and configuring field devices * Performing on-site acceptance testing and troubleshooting PLC code or wiring issues * Supporting client testing processes * Creating clear, accurate documentation including risk assessments, test reports, and progress updates What We're Looking For: We understand not everyone will tick every box, and that's okay. We value attitude, potential, and willingness to learn just as much as experience. We’re looking for candidates who: * Are qualified to HND level or above in electrical or control engineering (or have equivalent practical experience) * Hold a valid UK driving licence * Hold a UK Pssport due to airport security clearance * Have no criminal convictions, due to airport security clearance requirements * Are flexible about travelling across the UK and working away from home when required * Are open to working varied shifts, including days and nights depending on project needs Working Pattern This role typically offers a balanced mix of both day and night shifts—approximately 50/50 overall. However, shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of each project. While some assignments may be entirely during the day, others may require night work only. The 50/50 split is a general guideline, and actual shift allocation will be based on project-specific requirements at the time.
