If you want to contribute to meaningful work and be part of an organization that believes when you win, we all win, and when you fail, we all learn, we’d like to hear from you.The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek have the following characteristics and skills:ResponsibilitiesThe Control Systems Engineer will work on-site.Support the definition, verification, and in-service support of Control Systems solutions for the Dreadnaught Programme.System architecture design, analysis, and allocation of functional and safety requirements.Software design, coding, review, and test (legacy systems and latest-generation PLC-based).Assess design specifications and work with the supply chain to procure compliant hardware and software solutions.Interpret customer and derived requirements, definitions and validate for the system or product.Conduct systems verification, compliance, and regulatory qualification.Support installation, commissioning, in-service diagnostics, and modification of systems.Implement control software and verify using simulation tools and real-time test environments.Who we’re looking forThe Control Systems Engineer must:Hold a degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject (e.g., Systems Engineering, Controls, Electronics or Software Engineering).Be able to work as a member of the team to deliver Product Development or Application Engineering solutions to meet project needs and deadlines.Have experience in structured software programming to a recognized standard.Possess excellent written and verbal communication/influencing skills to articulate ideas, plans and priorities to engineers of other disciplines.It would be advantageous to have professional experience in PLC programming, particularly Siemens Simatic S7 to Level 2 or above.Be professionally registered as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or be working toward gaining professional status.Have knowledge of structured engineering processes in a regulated industry.Be willing to travel on occasion to support integration or commissioning activity at supplier or customer facilities.Be experienced in the configuration of automation systems.Desirable SkillsGood communication in English (oral & written) & interpersonal skills.Customer focus - ability to build and develop customer & supplier relationships.Organisational agility.Problem solving ability.Logical thinking.Effective time management.Results driven outlook.DisclaimerDue to the nature of work candidates should be UK citizen / EU citizen / valid work permit holder.
