What you’ll do

This is a key role within our Data Engineering team, part of Aviva Quantum, our global Data Science practice (covering Machine Learning, Analytics, Data Engineering, AI and more). You’ll be on point for managing metadata, classification tags, and access controls, and for operationalising governance standards using platforms like Collibra and Immuta.

You’ll work closely with Data Product Owners, the Data Governance & Privacy office, and engineering teams to ensure our data is discoverable, trusted, and secure. This role is perfect for someone who loves building automation, integrating tools, and enabling self-service in a highly regulated environment.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Collibra: Workflow design, API integration, glossary and lineage management.
  • Scripting & Automation: Python, REST APIs, SQL.
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Snowflake, or similar.
  • Governance Frameworks: Understanding of DAMA-DMBOK concepts, SoD, audit readiness.

Bonus: Experience with data quality tools (Great Expectations) and CI/CD integration.

What you’ll get for this role

  • Salary £33,000 - £40,000 for National and London £41,000 – £50,000 based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
