This role is crucial in developing the core components that will support our team for years to come.Key Responsibilities:Develop and enhance a modern data platform and data-intensive applications, including ingestion, ETL, data quality, storage, and APIs.Collaborate with quantitative engineers and researchers to meet business requirements.Work towards a balance of feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market for solutionsWork within a global team to deliver scalable, stable, and timely solutions.What We're Looking For:Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.Strong expertise in SQL and relational databases.Proficiency in Python and data-manipulation libraries/frameworks (e.g., Pandas, Polars, Dask, Vaex, PySpark).Excellent debugging skills and problem-solving abilities.Experience with financial instruments/software in areas such as research, risk management, portfolio management, etc.Knowledge of distributed data components (e.g., Kafka, Redis).Experience in building data platforms/ETLs, including batch and streaming, and data lake/warehouse/lakehouse patterns.Familiarity with column-oriented data storage and serialisation formats (e.g., Parquet/Arrow).Skills in code optimisation and performance tuning.Beneficial to have:Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry for monitoring and tracing.Familiarity with ClickHouse, Snowflake, or KDB.Ready to make an impact in the world of data engineering?
