You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, reflecting the current skills and capability requirements of corporate employers. Tutors must have significant professional experience in their discipline, as well as the enthusiasm to pass their passion for their specialist area on to students, learners, clients and peers.

What you’ll be doing
The BPP School of Technology is recruiting a Data Engineer professional and Tutor to support the teaching of the Level 5 Data Engineering programme, predominantly online. We are looking for practitioners with a keen sense of the corporate context, who are excited by the prospect of using their professional expertise to develop careers through higher education. We are interested in hearing from practitioners with teaching experience in higher education across our apprenticeship programmes, including those who may not come from a teaching background but wish to pursue higher education.
Areas of focus include:
- Python Programming & Command Line Scripting
- Networking & Cyber Security
- Production Environment
Responsibilities may include curriculum and content design, assessment development, marking, supervision, student cohort management, and teaching. Teaching of our apprenticeship provision is primarily online via the Adobe Connect platform. Teaching hours are predominantly Monday – Friday (9.00am – 5.00pm).

To be successful in this role you will need a proven track record in the following areas:

Experience
Relevant professional experience in industry.
Qualifications
Industry experience working in a Data Engineering role or similar.
Development
- For those not currently holding either a teaching qualification or a Fellowship of the HEA membership, a commitment to achieving these through BPP\'s PGCLT or HEA scheme is essential.
- A commitment to engage with our Learning and Teaching CPD resources.
