Overview

Role: Data Engineer at WPP Media. You will join a team solving challenging problems in the ad tech space using cutting edge AI/Machine Learning tools and techniques. This position involves dealing with real-time data, analyzing and visualizing data to meet curated client needs.

What You Will Do

  • Writing production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other data engineers, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
  • Provide honest, accurate feedback to others on the team to create growth opportunities.
  • Ensure a high standard of reliability, performance, motivation, and alignment with objectives provided by leadership.
  • Collaborate with Q&A and Analytics teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Nurture an environment of continuous growth within your team by providing motivation, mentorship, and learning opportunities.
  • Take ownership of the practices and processes within your team and constantly focus on their improvement.
  • Foster a culture of goal setting within your team and ensure everyone is continuously working towards their goals.

Tech Stack

  • Back end: Scala, Python, Java
  • Front end: JavaScript, React, Angular
  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • SDLC driven by automation

Skills And Experience

Candidates should align with WPP and WPP Media core values and bring experience in the following areas:

  • Exceptional communication skills, able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience creating and maintaining high-performing software.
  • Experience with big data stores including BigQuery and Snowflake.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience in maintaining and executing data onboarding blueprints mapping source and target data strategies and aggregations.
  • Experience with one or more technologies (SQL, Scala, Python, Flask, dbt, MySQL, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with data analysis using tools such as pandas and numpy.
  • Experience with data monitoring, detection, troubleshooting and validation frameworks.
  • Proven track record of delivering well-designed, well-tested and performant software solutions and pipelines within an agile environment.
