Overview

We’re supporting a London-based investment firm in finding a proactive Data Engineer to design and maintain automated data pipelines, integrate multiple systems, and support portfolio management, operational workflows, and investment reporting for ultra-high-net-worth clients.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines and ETL workflows
• Integrate data from portfolio management systems, Bloomberg, and other financial sources
• Develop APIs and automation tools to improve operational efficiency
• Support investment teams with data analysis and visualisation for portfolio and risk reporting
• Document processes and solutions clearly for technical and non-technical users
• Monitor and improve data quality, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring accuracy across systems

What you’ll bring

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Experience with Git for version control
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs (building or integrating)
• Proven ability to build and maintain ETL workflows or data pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear communicator, comfortable working across technical and business teams

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure and/or Docker
• Familiarity with portfolio management systems or Bloomberg data
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Pandas/Polars, Matplotlib)
• Experience automating operational or back-office processes in finance
