We are growing our team to unlock more value from the technology we have invested in and are looking for a Data Engineer to help grow the Data Engineering function, support the team to build effective engineering practices, and drive a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to advance your data journey, help develop the data engineering community of practice, define data standards across the organisation, and contribute to the next phase of PHMG’s Data Strategy.

Responsibilities
- Influence and contribute to the next phase of our data strategy.
- Play a key role in migrating data pipelines into Microsoft Fabric, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to design and build scalable, secure, and efficient data warehouse solutions.
- Apply best practices in architecture and engineering to improve data infrastructure and delivery.
- Partner with other technical teams to promote a data-driven culture, ensuring data is at the core of decision-making across product teams and the business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, evaluate opportunities, and recommend improvements across architecture, pipelines, data models and processes.
The person we are looking for will have the following experience
- Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of modern ETL/ELT frameworks and practices.
- Building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience with data orchestration tools, especially Data Factory pipelines, Fabric Dataflows Gen2, or Airflow.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and Python.
- Proficiency in version control and CI/CD experience.
- Experience in data modelling for reporting and insights teams, ideally using dbt or similar tools.
- Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have experience
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Experience with Snowflake and Databricks.

The Technology Department serves as the central hub for data engineering and insights across our organization. Our department operates as a unified force, cultivating a culture that empowers analysts and engineers to excel.
