About Snowplow: Snowplow is the global leader in customer data infrastructure for AI, enabling organizations to transform raw behavioral data into governed, high-fidelity fuel for AI-powered applications—including advanced analytics, real-time personalization engines, and AI agents. Snowplow powers real-time data processing and insights for a wide range of customers, helping them collect, process, and securely deliver event-level data to their warehouses, data lakes, or streams.
Snowplow serves digital-first companies and thousands of customers who rely on its platform to uncover customer insights, predict behaviors, hyper-personalize experiences, and detect fraud in real time.
The Opportunity
You’ll join the AI team at an exciting moment as we build Snowplow Signals — our new solution for enabling real-time, AI-powered customer experiences. Your work will contribute to the infrastructure that powers these capabilities, unlocking value from behavioral data in real time. You’ll also help maintain and enhance dbt-based components that accelerate customers’ time to insight.
This role blends data collection, SQL-based transformation, and high-level intelligence to support real-time pipelines for analytics, personalization, and emerging agentic experiences.
What you’ll be doing
- Developing and maintaining a suite of production SQL data models used by our customer base and community, primarily focusing on dbt for packaging and execution
- Collaborating with Product and Engineering to shape data collection via trackers, build better data models, and define tooling for our commercial offering
- Building and optimizing real-time and batch data pipelines that power personalization, recommendation engines, and predictive models — from streaming ingestion and transformation using Benthos to materializing features for agentic use cases and customer-facing AI systems
- Supporting prospect/customer facing teams by demonstrating Snowplow data capabilities, such as powering personalization and recommendation systems or developing advanced models (e.g., marketing attribution, lifetime value)
- Participating in decisions about what to build to deliver value to customers and how to deliver it, providing a different perspective and input
- Developing and productizing data models with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability; developing deep understanding of cloud data warehouses and common web and mobile analytics use cases
Qualifications / Requirements
- SQL and dbt are your strengths. You master SQL, including handling large data sets and performance tuning
- Experience with both batch and streaming data processing; familiarity with streaming tooling (e.g., Benthos) for real-time ingestion, transformation, and delivery
- Understanding of feature engineering and management; familiarity with tools like Feast for defining, materializing, and serving features in real-time and batch contexts
- Extensive experience with Python used for generating data models
- Engineering background with CI/CD and Git; experience with testing frameworks
- A proactive learner who can adapt to new technologies essential for automating models and advancing engineering practices
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and experience working with data in a cloud data warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery)
- Experience with modern data modeling technologies (DBT)
- Clear documentation and communication; some technical writing experience is a plus
- Ability to work autonomously and drive technical initiatives from discovery to delivery
- Pragmatic approach balancing speed of delivery with reliability and trusted service for customers
- Strong collaboration skills for remote teamwork and effective communication
What We Offer You in Return
- A competitive package, including share options
- Flexible working
- A generous holiday allowance no matter where you are in the world
- MacBook and home office equipment allowance
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption leave
- Snowplow is dedicated to building and supporting a brilliant, diverse and inclusive team. We don’t discriminate based on gender, race, religion or belief, disability, age, marital status or sexual orientation. We welcome anyone with talent, drive and emotional intelligence.
