Overview
Data Engineer role at IPRS Health. This remote position may require occasional travel to UK offices. You will be part of a highly collaborative environment, reporting into the Data Analytics Manager with a dotted line to the Development Team Lead, and you will take ownership of the data warehouse project using Microsoft Fabric.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building data infrastructure
- Developing and maintaining data pipelines
- Ensuring data quality and consistency
- Collaborating with other teams
- Building and maintaining data tools
- Troubleshooting and resolving data issues
- Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines
- Taking on DBA responsibilities for performance, integrity, security, backups and recovery strategies
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of higher education qualification (A-Levels, BTEC National Diploma, Higher National Diploma) in a computer-related subject
- Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or related subject with formal training in data analysis
- Experience with MS Fabric as a Data Warehouse
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Experience with dashboarding packages, specifically Power BI
- Strong SQL skills
- Knowledge of MS Windows and SQL Server Administration
- Strong understanding of relational database design
- Strong understanding of data warehouse design, ETL processes and tools, and various data modelling concepts
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Agent Jobs
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (R, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail, logical problem solving, and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 per annum
- Location: Remote working
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri; flexible / compressed work arrangements considered
