Overview

Data Engineer role at IPRS Health. This remote position may require occasional travel to UK offices. You will be part of a highly collaborative environment, reporting into the Data Analytics Manager with a dotted line to the Development Team Lead, and you will take ownership of the data warehouse project using Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building data infrastructure
  • Developing and maintaining data pipelines
  • Ensuring data quality and consistency
  • Collaborating with other teams
  • Building and maintaining data tools
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data issues
  • Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines
  • Taking on DBA responsibilities for performance, integrity, security, backups and recovery strategies

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of higher education qualification (A-Levels, BTEC National Diploma, Higher National Diploma) in a computer-related subject
  • Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or related subject with formal training in data analysis
  • Experience with MS Fabric as a Data Warehouse
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Experience with dashboarding packages, specifically Power BI
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Knowledge of MS Windows and SQL Server Administration
  • Strong understanding of relational database design
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse design, ETL processes and tools, and various data modelling concepts
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Agent Jobs
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail, logical problem solving, and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: £45,000 per annum
  • Location: Remote working
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri; flexible / compressed work arrangements considered
