Data Engineer role at Codat

Overview

This is a data engineering role on the Insights team at Codat. You’ll blend strategic vision with hands-on delivery to build and evolve a scalable data platform that transforms raw data into actionable business insights in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Base pay range

£95K - £125K

What you’ll do

• Own the entire project lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery, architecting solutions that deliver actionable intelligence from the data domain.
• Lead architectural decisions to improve the technology stack and influence the product’s technical strategy.
• Mentor engineers of all levels, championing best practices and raising the team’s bar.
• Identify and prototype opportunities to embed AI into core products to deliver value to clients and improve engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate complex concepts and influence the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with distributed systems, large-scale data and modern data engineering technologies.
• Strong proficiency in C# and Python.
• Experience with Databricks Delta Lake, SQL, Spark, Dagster, DBT, Temporal and Airflow.
• Proficiency with modern build and deployment processes in a cloud-based environment.
• Track record of building robust, observable, high-quality data systems with operational excellence.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Willingness to learn a new business domain and apply data-centric insights to product design.
