Database Engineer - Postgres - Snowflake - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite) - 12 month contract PAYE
Are you a Database Engineer with a background in Snowflake and PostgreSQL? Are you based in Scotland and looking to work on some interesting distributed database platform transformations?
I have an immediate opportunity for a Database Engineer to join a busy team in Glasgow. Flexibility to work 3 days onsite is required.
You will be responsible for engineering, deploying, and supporting distributed database platforms, with a focus on Snowflake and PostgreSQL.You will be working across both cloud and on-premises environments, helping to shape modern, automated data services that are secure, resilient, and built to scale.
I am therefore keen to speak with candidates who have

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake administration and optimisation.
• Background in managing large, distributed database infrastructures.
• Solid scripting and automation skills (Python, Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern data platform architectures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a cooperative and busy environment.
