Design Engineer
to lead the design and development of complex tooling and precision engineering solutions. This is a key role within the team, where you will take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and manufacturability. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and the production team, providing technical leadership. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving engineering challenges and delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced, high-precision environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of Press tools & fixtures using advanced CAD software Manage design projects from initial concept through to final approval Collaborate with clients to interpret requirements and provide expert technical guidance Ensure all designs are optimised for manufacturing, cost-efficiency, and performance Oversee and review the work of the design team providing mentorship and support Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure compliance with ISO standards Drive continuous improvement and contribute to innovation within the design process Supporting full rate production of a range of products aligned to the business requirements Creation of detailed process instructions of the new Process when new tooling was introduced Produce detailed drawings What Were Looking For Proven experience as a Design Engineer within tooling and precision engineering Proficiency in CAD software , and CATIA V5 Strong understanding of manufacturing processes to including forming using Hydraulic & Hydroforming Presses is essential. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Leadership experience or the ability to support other team members Key personal competencies: Strong analytical skills. Good communication skills that can influence a range of audiences internally and externally in meetings at all levels. A good team player, able to liaise with other functions across the business. An independent thinker, able to take an assertive stance to enforce the key customer and quality requirements. Experience of driving change in process, behaviour and culture. Key competences: personal accountability, building relationships, planning for results, customer first, adaptability.
