DevOps Engineer - AWS

This is a senior-level position within a fast-paced enterprise environment focused on modernising infrastructure and maintaining high standards of security and compliance. You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-native solutions, while mentoring others and driving best practices across the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters, covering architecture, networking, CI/CD, storage, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver robust cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Administer and support Databricks environments, including access control, storage configuration, and networking.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using observability tools and root-cause analysis.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Support system installations, configuration changes, and user access management.
- Enhance system monitoring and reporting in partnership with support teams.
- Work across Agile and Waterfall delivery models to meet project goals.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and growth.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) and/or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, ARM, BICEP).
- Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of Linux, Windows, and storage systems.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Coralogix).
- Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Knowledge of networking and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with Databricks is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
