Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our Group Data function. This role is instrumental in advancing our cloud infrastructure strategy, with a focus on automation, scalability, and security. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with solution architects and cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless deployment and operation of technology solutions within our AWS environment. Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
  • Developing and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to support agile software delivery
  • Collaborating with architecture and security teams to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and best practices
  • Deploying and managing containerised applications using Docker and ECS, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
  • Monitoring system performance and reliability using tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, and the ELK stack
  • Contributing to solution design, risk assessment, and project planning activities
  • Promoting continuous improvement and innovation across DevOps practices and tooling
  • Ensuring all development activities adhere to change governance and software development lifecycle (SDLC) standards

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and managing AWS-based infrastructure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Strong experience with Docker, ECS, and Terraform
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control using GitHub
  • Experience with Windows Server, PowerShell, and Linux environments
  • Exposure to data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Qlik Replicate) is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in agile, collaborative environments
