Division: Technology Infrastructure
Reports To: Lead Development Operations Engineer

Department Overview
Our Technology Infrastructure team operates globally and is responsible for every aspect of the firm's hybrid platform. This ranges from our EUC/Office environments to Trading and Core service Co-Location Data Centres, and extends to Public Cloud, delivering top-tier technology services to a dynamic and demanding Trading organisation. In addition to meeting the round-the-clock operational demands of the platforms, we continuously evolve and transform our platforms to maintain a competitive edge that our business requires. We innovate to provide valuable solutions and leverage our skilled Technology teams to deliver against rapidly changing business requirements.
Role Overview
Join our Platforms Team as we lead an ambitious technology modernisation journey. We’re continuing to evolve our global infrastructure—spanning multiple global data centers—into a modern hybrid architecture that leverages both existing on-premise and multi-cloud environments and capabilities across Azure and AWS. Over the past two years, we've modernised our core trading systems and introduced a range of key technologies including Kubernetes, Kafka, ELK, Prometheus, and more. As we expand and enhance the platforms, our focus is on automating and standardising to ensure consistency, scalability and reliability across all environments.
Experience Required
Must have:
- Experience working with pull requests and peer reviews
- Ansible
- Terragrunt
- Python
- Groovy (for Jenkins pipelines)
Nice to have, but willing to learn otherwise:
- Testing frameworks, like Molecule, Junit, pytest
- Kubernetes engineering and support experience, including on-prem, using bare metal hardware or integrated with hypervisors such as VMWare, and EKS/AKS
- Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows fundamentals and automation
- Experience with network automation
- Java and/or c# experience, for troubleshooting purposes, mainly around the building/testing process
- Experience of CI/CD using TeamCity
- Experience of repositories like Nexus or Artifactory
- Experience of operating and developing metrics, observability and tracing using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, ELK, Tempo or Jaeger
- Platform engineering and support experience with Public Cloud platforms, preferably with a major Hyperscaler like Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience of data platforms and pipelines like Kafka and Redis
- Experience with Chaos engineering and testing with Gremlin, chaos-test, litmuschaos or similar
About You
The ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with a proven track record in problem-solving, critical BAU, advanced engineering and technology service delivery in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment. You should also understand the need for rapid delivery while appreciating business risk and constraints to ensure adherence to service levels. The candidate should have extensive experience working both independently and as part of a diverse team, meeting both broad and specific project/BAU objectives. This role requires excellent organisational skills, open communication, and a collaborative approach. Your commitment to continuous improvement should be evident, both in learning from others and sharing knowledge to enhance our team's capability and function.
