Contract - DevOps Engineer

£550 per day (Outside IR35)

Remote, with occasional London (Whitehall) workshops

6 months initial contract

We're working with a leading digital consultancy supporting the Ministry of Defence on a major transformation and replatforming programme. They're looking for an experienced Engineer/Architect who can take ownership of technical solutions and help deliver secure, scalable platforms into a mission-critical environment.

What you'll be doing

• Leading on solution elements within Defence programmes.
• Working hands-on with Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshooting, reviewing code, and resolving merge conflicts.
• Applying a security-first mindset to public-facing web services.
• Supporting the strategy, influencing stakeholders, and guiding delivery teams.

What you'll need

• Active SC clearance.
• Strong Terraform experience (heavy focus in this role).
• Proven knowledge of Kubernetes vs OpenShift with ability to discuss trade-offs.
• Experience in MOD environments (D2S, MODCloud).
• Hands-on DevOps skills - GitLab, CI/CD.
• Ability to explain not just how you build solutions, but why you make those choices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
