It involves monitoring operational spend, identifying cost-effective solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt issue resolution. The Drainage Delivery Engineer will use performance and predictive data to proactively manage the network and support continuous improvement. Collaboration, data analysis, and a strong understanding of day-to-day operations are key to success in this role.Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesEnsure daily compliance with Wastewater Network policies, Environment Agency protocols, and all relevant regulatory requirements.Improve drainage performance by contributing technical expertise to planned works, reducing reactive incidents such as flooding and pollution, and enhancing customer satisfaction and CMEX scores.Maintain accurate and reliable regulatory data on INS database, particularly relating to flooding, pollution and asset collapses.Lead stakeholder engagement and operational response within the drainage area.Identify repeat issues and investment needs, support budget control, and ensure sewer records and pollution risk databases are kept up to date, while providing technical guidance to field teams.Engineer is to participate in a standby rotaTechnical Skills & ExperienceExtensive knowledge of sewer operations and maintenance techniques, with a strong understanding of sewerage law and its practical application.Solid awareness of Confined Space Regulations (1997), health and safety standards including CDM and NRSWA, and principles of pumping station operation.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and influence stakeholders across teams and external organisations.Strong organisational and time management abilities, capable of working under pressure, using initiative, and planning effectively in the short to medium term.Good IT proficiency, including understanding of corporate systems and the Network Maintenance Alliance, alongside commercial awareness and budget management skills.This role may not be eligible for the visa sponsorshipQualificationsHNC in civil engineering (or related subject) OR a Degree in civil engineering (or related subject) is desirableWe rely on every employee to ensure our customers receive the best possible service, day in, day out.
