As an experienced Electrical Design Engineer you will provide electrical design capability to engineering activities/projects and parameterisation of powertrain systems, with ideally experience in rolling stock or medium duty off highway sector. Strong technical background (good technical degree preferred electronic or, electrical engineering). Electrical Design Engineer Role: * Being responsible for generation of manufacturing designs, based on technical specifications, requirements relevant standards, and other constraints. * Being responsible for the development and design for new products. * Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures. * Problem solving on existing products and product improvement. * Evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions. * Working alongside the senior engineers on new and existing product development ensuring delivery of solutions to meet the customer’s requirements. * Keeping up to date in relevant technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support and expertise to others as required. * Actively participate in business unit improvement activities. Electrical Design Engineer Requirements: Essential: * Electrical Degree/HND or suitable Electrical engineering design experience Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a electrical design role. * Ability to create 3D CAD models and assembly of control panels, switch gear and harness drawings. * Fault-finding and test skills * Team player. * Excellent verbal and written communicator. * Ability to work independently or within a team environment. * Have a hands-on approach to Engineering Design and development. * Integrity and trust. * Time keeping. Desirable: * Degree educated. * Experience of mobile off-highway/industrial products, rolling stock. * PLC and HMI software programming with Parker Iqan, CoDeSys or similar. * AutoCAD electrical experience. * Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD experience.
