I’m currently representing a leading Manufacturing company based in Birmingham and they’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. \n \n Electrical Design Engineer\n \n\nProduce and maintain electrical design documentation (performance calculations, test plans, material/component justifications).\nEnsure compliance with electrical designs with customer specifications, safety standards, and legislative requirements.\nPrepare detailed electrical drawings (schematic and wiring) and Bills of Materials using SolidWorks Electrical / E-Plan.\nCollaborate with mechanical engineers to deliver fully integrated design solutions.\nSupport the transition of detailed designs into manufacture.\nFollow the design process to ensure all mitigations and approvals are in place at the correct stage. \nElectrical Design Engineer\n Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications\n\nDegree-qualified engineer with at least 3 years’ technical experience in MOD, Aerospace/Defence, or Marine sectors.\nStrong power and electrical design capability, including system design and component selection.\nProven experience in control and instrumentation, plus knowledge of variable speed drives, motor starter panels, distribution systems, and PLC/control systems (ProfiBus, ProfiNet, TIA Portal).\nCompetence in FMEA, safety assessments, and reliability analysis.\nUnderstanding of testing and automation, including NI hardware, LabVIEW, and test plan development.\nProficiency in E-Plan and/or SolidWorks Electrical (or alternative CAD systems), with hands-on engineering experience and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. \nElectrical Design Engineer\n Benefits\n\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays including Christmas Shutdown\nAuto-Enrolment Pension Scheme\nCompany Sick pay\nLife assurance scheme\nEAP 24/7 GP helpline, counselling, legal/shopping support\n \n If you feel you’re a good fit for this position, please click ‘apply
