Electrical Design Engineer – The Role

  • Create detailed electrical schematics, 2D layouts, and wiring diagrams for control panels, compliant with customer specifications and industry standards using CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical is the package used).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into new machinery.
  • Support the panel assembly team during build and testing phases of control panels.
  • Document design revisions, support DCNs (Design Change Notices), and participate in design reviews.
  • Support the commissioning team to ensure successful FAT and SAT.

Electrical Design Engineer – The Person

  • Completed a formal qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrate a practical approach to engineering to develop cost effective solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Proficient in CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
  • Ideally experience with machine safety and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy the technical aspects of this role and have attention to detail.
  • Ideally experience in a dynamic engineering role and the ability to work with a variety of people using a logical approach.

Salary: £40 - £45k+
