Substation Design Remote | EMEA travel required | Full-Time Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with a passion for delivering technically sound and innovative substation designs? We're looking for a highly skilled professional to join our team, supporting our team in executing cutting-edge substation design and build projects across EMEA. Your Role: As a Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the detailed design and execution of high-voltage substations (110kV400kV). Youll work closely with the in-house Electrical Engineering team, ensuring that all projects meet rigorous technical standards, adhere to schedule and budget, and support the delivery of mission-critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support detailed substation design from concept to commissioning. Collaborate with the clients Electrical Engineer to ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, BS, and national grid codes. Deliver and review power system studies using ETAP, including: Load Flow Analysis Short Circuit Analysis Harmonic Analysis Protection & Coordination Studies HV/MV/LV Cable Calculations Provide technical oversight and guidance to AEs and EPC contractors throughout all design phases. Attend internal/external design and coordination meetings. Conduct thorough design reviews, ensuring adherence to specifications and grid codes. Collaborate across disciplines to integrate electrical design into overall site architecture. Prepare technical reports, calculation packages, and design justification documents. Provide regular updates to the Electrical Team Lead. Use GSuite (Slides, Docs, Sheets) to produce presentations and documentation. Offer constructability input on both substation and data center design. Identify and drive innovation, cost savings, scheduling improvements, and sustainability initiatives. Travel across EMEA for 23 day site visits as required (following approval). About You: 10+ years experience in detailed substation design (110kV400kV). Deep understanding of protection and control concepts within substations. Expertise with using ETAP (mandatory). Additional software experience: SKM, Amtech, Ampcalc, DigSilent, Cymap. Familiarity with multi-disciplinary coordination in large infrastructure projects. Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills. Able to work remotely with periodic travel across EMEA. Location Remote-first role, with preference for candidates based in: London (preferred) Dublin Amsterdam Why Join Us?
